I can remember I have always loved looking good. I’ve always loved the styling part of putting on clothes and not being afraid to mix and match and try new things. I love to look good whether it's for a ball or a ball game.
It all goes back to when I was a child my mother would always say "You don't have to dress like you don’t have money! " This always stuck with me. You could honestly say I learned my mix and matching from my mom because she would shop at goodwill and thrift stores--before they became popular--and we had great attire. My siblings and I were always stylish even our teachers complimented us. That's when I learned it wasn’t about the brands you wore. It was about how you styled them!
I took the phrase, "When you look good, you feel good" and made it my motto. I had a friend/stylist say my clothes were my costume and I truly believe that your clothes tell a story about how you feel or what inspired you. My game day attire reflects my personality in an outfit. A conversation starter with the students. It also is part of my support for my husband. And the further along we’ve come in OUR journey fashion was MY thing and basketball was HIS thing. Two things I loved I was able to combine them together, and I will always dress to look the part. As I said before it reflects my personality in an outfit, BUT it also makes me feel unstoppable.
